What makes a good reader?

What makes a good reader?  Well, according to Vladimir Nabokov, a good reader is a person who has an imagination, memory, a dictionary and an artistic sense.  He also believes a good reader is one who rereads.  Nabokov says someone who rereads makes a better reader due to the amount of work and time required in reading a book as opposed to looking at a painting.
I agree with Nabokov in that a good reader is imaginative, has a good memory and a dictionary.  However, I don’t agree that a person has to have an artistic sense.  I consider myself a good reader, but I don’t have a single artistic cell in my body.  As for rereading a book, I agree and disagree.  If the book is about material of interest to the reader, there is no reason to reread it as the reader will retain its contents due to their interest.  Whereas if the reader is reading material which is of no real interest to them, then rereading is beneficial in retaining the information they have read.
